Health Awareness Talk and Free Health Check-up Camp Organized by the Women Empowerment Cell and National Service Scheme on the Occasion of NSS Day: Rohtak, September 24, 2026.

The Women Empowerment Cell of Government Postgraduate Women’s College, Rohtak, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a Health Awareness Programme and Free Health Check-up Camp for students and staff on the occasion of NSS Day under the “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.” As part of the programme, health awareness talks were organized on the theme “Own Your Health: What Every Young Woman Should Know.” On this occasion, Dr. Neha Rastogi, Senior Consultant, Infectious Diseases, Fortis Hospital, Gurugram, provided important information on infectious diseases. Dr. Devyani Surange, Associate Consultant, Hematology, Hemato-Oncology and BMT, Fortis Hospital, Gurugram, sensitized the students about anaemia among young women. Alongside the awareness sessions, Dr. Ridham Chhabra and her team from Irwin Clinic organized a free dental, skin and hair check-up camp. Students and staff members underwent health examinations and received necessary consultation and guidance from the medical experts.
The successful organization of the programme received special support from NSS Programme Officers Dr. Suman, Mrs. Harsh, Dr. Sinki and Ms. Swati Balhara. They played an important role in ensuring student participation and facilitating the various health awareness activities. Dr. Veena Sachdeva, Convener, Women Empowerment Cell, stated that awareness about women’s health and timely health check-ups are essential for their overall development and empowerment. Dr. Meenakshi, Activity In-charge, also extended her support for the successful organization of the programme.
Dr. Shamsher Hooda, Principal of the College, appreciated the initiative and stated that, along with providing education, creating health awareness among students is also an important responsibility of the institution. He encouraged the students to incorporate the health-related information shared by the medical experts into their daily lives. Students and staff participated enthusiastically in the programme and benefited from valuable health-related information, expert advice, and consultations provided by the visiting medical professionals.
