Dental and health check-up of more than 200 girl students in Women's College

Many students were found to have problems related to teeth. In the investigation, signs of tooth decay were found in 40 to 55 percent of students. After this, decay was found in 35 to 40 per cent of students. Plaque, calculus or gum-related problems were found in 20 to 25 percent of students in the examination. About 15 to 20 percent of students were advised for further specialist check-up and necessary treatment. Dr. Veena Sachdeva said that it was also celebrated as Anemia Day. In this, Dr. Suman, Dr. Harsh, Dr. Sinki and Dr. Swati Balhara were especially present. In the health camp, the experts did not limit themselves to just check-ups. They told the students that timely diagnosis, regular check-ups and timely treatment can solve many health problems. Eating correctly, avoiding excessive sweet and processed foods, drinking enough water and taking proper care of teeth were advised. The experts gave information about personal hygiene and the "three secrets" to prevent infectious diseases and skin, hair and vitamin deficiencies. In the second, doctors explained about anemia, its causes and its side effects. They also informed about continuously eating balanced diet, iron-rich diet and fruits like green vegetables. Women were advised to get such check-ups done. The health program was organized by the Department of Physical Education and NSS. The camp was held at the Dental Clinic. Dr. Aarti's team from ITM, Rohtak and other staff were present. Principal Dr. Shamsher Hooda said that students should remain aware about their health along with education and consider it as an important part of building a healthy future.
