Gift for Six Thousand Girl Students: High-Tech Computer Lab to be Built in Women's College at a Cost of Two Crores

New Computer Lab along with Seminar and Multipurpose Hall to be built in Women's College. In the Government Postgraduate College for Women, preparations are being made to expand computer education. A new computer lab and a modern building associated with it are being constructed at a cost of about 2 crore rupees. The special thing is that the project has not been limited to just installing computers, but facilities like separate large halls, seminar and multipurpose spaces for activities, and an office are also being developed for the students.
In this college with a capacity of about six thousand students, 12 PG programs are being run. Under the project, about one crore rupees will be spent on building construction. Three large halls are being prepared in the new block. Of these, one hall will be for the computer lab, while the second will be used as a seminar hall. The third large hall will be for multipurpose activities. About one crore rupees will be spent on new block building construction in the women's college. Furniture for students and staff, office setup and two water coolers will also be installed. This will provide additional space in the college not only for computer education, but also for seminars, training and other academic activities.
Principal of Government Postgraduate Women's College, Shamsher Singh Hooda said that about one crore rupees will be spent on computers and other equipment for the new lab. Computers with the latest generation i7 processors will be installed. Along with computers, new furniture for the use of students and a complete lab setup will be prepared. Office-related arrangements and tables will also be installed in the lab. Two water coolers will also be installed for the convenience of students and staff. A 90-seat lab will further expand computer education infrastructure.
At present, the computer science lab of the college has a capacity to accommodate about 90 students. Looking at the institution with a capacity of six thousand students and the increasing need for computer-related courses, the construction of a new lab is considered important. After the new facility is ready, computer-based courses and practical work will have additional space for the college. A block is being constructed for the new facility. Its speciality will be that in the same building premises, there will be a system of a computer lab, seminar hall and multipurpose hall. That is, the new construction will not be limited to just a computer lab, but will provide additional infrastructure for the academic activities of the college.
